Sugoi RS SubZero Bib Tight
Sugoi RS SubZero Bib Tight: Solid Bib Tight but Doesn’t Quite Live up to Name
The Sugoi RS SubZero Bib Tight is an insulated bib tight designed for use on cold winter days. Featuring Sugoi’s Firewall 180 and SubZero DWR materials for protection from wind and water and insulation for those winter rides when the temperature dips below freezing. The Sugoi RS SubZero Bib Tight has zippers at the ankles and waist to make it easier to get the tights on and uses stirrups around the feet to keep it all in place. The Sugoi RS SubZero Bib Tight finds a good ground between comfort, protection from the elements, and flexibility. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite live up to its SubZero name. On days below zero, the insulation just didn’t cut it especially as ride times went above an hour. And while wind protection was adequate, it couldn’t handle the sharpest of winter winds. I found the Sugoi RS SubZero Bib Tight better suited for temperatures above zero.
Luckily for the Sugoi RS SubZero Bib Tight, it uses Sugoi’s excellent Formula FX chamois which I previously described as one of the best chamois I have ever used. The Formula FX chamois provides all day comfort making it excellent for long rides, if the temperature is right. Flat seams, flexible fabrics, and soft insulation also aid in making the Sugoi RS SubZero Bib Tight extremely comfortable.
All together, the Sugoi RS SubZero Bib Tight is a solid bib tight but it doesn’t quite live up to its name. Designed for temperatures below freezing, the Sugoi RS SubZero is better suited for milder conditions.
