Sugoi RS Pro Jersey Review
Materials and Construction Make the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey Standout
Along with the Sugoi RS Pro Bib Short, I have spent the last couple of weeks testing the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey. During the testing period, it has been the quality of construction and materials used in the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey that have stood out the most to me.The Sugoi RS Pro Jersey features Sugoi’s Fino Pro fabric which wicks moisture away from the skin to keep riders dry and comfortable. The material’s moisture wicking performance was excellent and offered plenty of stretch for a comfortable fit. The quality of construction of the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey is especially noticeable in the seams used to stitch the Fino Pro panels together. The seams are clean and flat and unnoticeable when wearing the jersey. Along with its light weight, you can almost forget you are wearing a jersey.
The Fino Pro fabric of the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey also provides excellent heat regulation. The material breathes extremely well and I cannot complain about ever feeling too warm. Because it breathes so well, I would recommend a base layer for those early or late season rides when it is still a little cool.
Thanks to Sugoi’s Fino Pro fabric, the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey is an excellent choice for a summer jersey. In terms of fit, the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey fit surprisingly loose for a pro fit jersey, as I noted in my first impressions. Pro fit is aimed at the lean and fit cyclist and is cut to fit tightly to their bodies, which means the average rider should avoid it or go up a size or two. But I found my XL Sugoi RS Pro Jersey to be quite a loose fit and I am definitely built like the average cyclist. This meant that there was extra material to flap around and increase drag, especially around my shoulders.
If you are looking at the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey, I would recommend checking out a size smaller than you normally wear and definitely encourage you to go to your local Sugoi dealer and try it on first.
Apart from the surprisingly loose fit, the only other thing I can not praise about the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey (and I’m being really nit picky here) is that the full length zipper can be stubborn. Both at the top and the bottom, the zipper takes a little effort to get moving. When on the bike this can be a problem because it requires more than one hand to open the zipper a bit if you want a little more air flow.
Overall, the quality of the materials and construction of the Sugoi RS Pro Jersey make it an excellent jersey. Once you dial in your fit, there is no reason why this comfortable and breathable jersey could not be your new favorite top.
